The Silent Epidemic Affecting
Midlife Men

James is highly qualified in psychology, NLP and coaching, as well as personal training, hormone health and nutrition. However, it wasn’t until his own challenges in his late 40s that his passion for helping midlife men really manifested into an unstoppable mission.

From 2011, James experienced many personal and professional setbacks, which put huge strain on his marriage, finances and self confidence. James’ approach, like most men, was to keeep his head down and push on through. From the outside, he looked like he’d recovered and had it all together – finding love again with his now wife Claire after divorce and building a thriving wellness brand – The Midlife Mentors. But in 2021, the stress began to take its toll and James suffered with low level depression. He found it almost impossible to name and share what he was going through, which impacted all areas of his life – and so began James’ journey of mental and physical healing. He wrote his Book – The Midlife Male Handbook throughout that time, using his own experiences, the latest research and stories of other men going through similar challenges.

James’ hope is that through the work he does – as an author, speaker and media commentator, men don’t suffer in silence as he did. He wants men to understand that what they’re going through isn’t simply ‘ageing’ – that the andropause is real and show them how they can take back control. Above all – James wishes to inspire men to view this stage of their life as an opportunity to embrace new exciting opportunities.

Youth may longer be on our side, but it doesn’t mean we have to become invisible and let go of our dreams!
